You may know your visitors well, but surely an affiliate manger has more data than you do as to how certain ads perform based on your demographics.

Also, Pay Per Click marketing is quite useful for most of these campaigns. With the use of PPC you don’t even need to have a high traffic website already. In many cases you will want to create a new site with a couple of pages for these campaigns as they are more targeted to what searchers are looking for. Obviously you are going to want to look for low cost clicks that convert, but a good way to start with PPC is to use Yahoo! Sponsored Search lists your business on top sites like Yahoo!, AltaVista and CNN. Sign up and get a $25 credit.

I’m sure some of you would want to give to charitable organizations more often. We all would wouldn’t we? Even though many are just going to want to keep their AGLOCO money, there will be an option to give what you make for surfing the internet directly to charity if you so choose.

I have just got word from our Shanghai based tech team with an update on the Viewbar status. Most of the QA tests are going well with the exception of the ad servers. The team is currently integrating the Viewbar with the ad servers so that the Viewbar will have ads (and revenue) ready to go when it launches (it would not make too much sense to release a Viewbar that was not making any money). So, while the Viewbar is still on track for release this month, making the April 2nd to 16th window is getting more difficult – and, yes, the Shanghai team has been working seven days a week for quite a while now and will continue to do so until the Viewbar is released.

There is some good Viewbar news for most of you. As I mentioned in my last post, we are initially releasing about 50,000 Viewbars to those Members that signed up first. Our current plan is to release another 50,000 Viewbars every day until every pre-launch Member has a Viewbar (which means all Members should have their Viewbar within the first 10 – 11 days). This should alleviate some of the fears Members have expressed that they might have to wait weeks or months for their Viewbar. We recognize that there have been delays on the front end of the release, so we are trying to tighten up the back end of the release as much as possible.

Also, as some Members have correctly pointed out, AGLOCO’s early revenue will not immediately translate into cash distributions to Members. While we do not know how large our initial revenue will be, we do know that AGLOCO has operating costs to pay. It is important to remember that AGLOCO is not a “get rich quick scheme”, and we maintain that the most prudent way to build AGLOCO as a sustainable company is to calibrate Member distributions to company earnings. As such, the cash payouts will not begin until there is a comfortable balance between AGLOCO’s free cash flow and AGLOCO’s expenses. It is important to add that all Members will begin to accumulate hours from when they first start using the Viewbar (and referral hours will also be earned). Those hours will not be wasted. Both overall hours and monthly hours will be used in determining distributions to Members.

Thankfully, there are people that have more experience, and more people with expertise in internet marketing, link building, PPC, and SEO, than any one person can possibly have. Especially if you have to spend time actually running your business! These companies have a good reputation, and have plenty of success stories to back up their internet marketing servies. I’m sure most of you, like myself gave up on Agloco long ago. Their ridiculous explanations on their Viewbar. The delays after delays in getting it out. This company was pretty much BSing everyone that followed them. Most of us assumed they would never make it, and we were right.

There are a couple of things that I really found disturbing about them while they were around, however. First, was the fact that they never said a word to anyone when they shut it all down. They just killed their website and stopped updating the affiliates. The last e-mail i believe I received from Agloco was back in November and that e-mail went on to say something about how they couldn’t afford to pay out any dividends to the affiliates at this time. Just one month after they detailed how they were going to pay out affiliates, and saying that they were raising the payout per hour.

The most disturbing thing in Agloco’s short history had to do with a request that we received from the management team in I suppose was October 2007. This wasn’t publicly issued. This was sent to the affiliates via e-mail. In the e-mail the management team requested that we use the Viewbar to search through their main sponsor Ask.com. No big deal. Good idea. Well… if you kept reading that e-mail they went on to ask that once you did a search with Ask.com that you would CLICK ON THEIR SPONSORED ADS. Can you believe this? If anyone has ever been part of an ad program of any sort they know that this is the biggest no no there is. It is stealing money from the advertisers for personal gain, and will get you kicked out of every program almost instantly if you are caught.

My theory is that Ask.com dumped Agloco and they had no other option, but to fold. After getting that e-mail asking for clicks, I had no reason to think they would be around much longer anyways. That was a desperate measure. In fact that request was likely forwarded to ask.com by many who received it and they should have immediately dumped Agloco, and then sued them on top of it.
